THE OLD LEGION, LAKENHEATH

Located just next door to Lakenheath Peace Memorial Hall is our Community Hub, The Old Legion, Lakenheath. The building was previously owned by The Royal British Legion and opened in the 1950s. Unfortunately in April 2012 The RBL made the decision to closed this branch much to the people of Lakenheath's disappointment. The village was lucky enough to purhase the building in 2015 and since then has run under a few different names. In December 2025, as a result of overwhelming community support the name was changed again to “The Old Legion (Lakenheath)“, reflecting just how important the memories of the British Legion are to the village.

The Old Legion has the following features:

A kitchen
A large function room with small stage (capacity of 120 people (100 when seated))
A lounge bar area, complete with pool tables, darts board and an area for small children to play
A committee room
A fully stocked bar
Outside patio and garden area
Toilets including accessible with baby change table

The hire rates for this hall is £18 per hour or,

All day (9:00 - 23:00) for £150 (dance hall),

All day (9:00 - 23:00) for £160 (dance hall and lounge) - only available for full day hire on Monday's and Tuesday's

Should you wish to have the bar open(outside of usual opening times), there is an additional charge of £15 per hour)

Use of kitchen is an additional £20

All bookings must be paid for at the time of booking.

A refundable deposit of £100 is also payable at the time of booking.
